The Case for Winter Glamping
Heresy, perhaps. But hear us out.
Most people associate glamping with warm evenings and festival vibes. But the guests who come to Broadway in November or January consistently tell us the same thing: "Why didn't we do this sooner?"
Here's why winter is, actually, the best.
There's Nobody Else Here
Summer is beautiful. July and August are glorious. But they're also busy. The roads to Laugharne, the paths along the estuaries, the beaches — they all fill up.
In winter, you have the landscape almost entirely to yourselves. The beaches are wild and empty. Laugharne village feels like a secret. The coastal paths are yours.
The Hot Tub is Even Better
Slipping into a private hot tub when the air is cold is one of the most luxurious sensations you can legally have. The contrast is extraordinary. Steam rising, stars above, a glass of something warming in hand, the silence of the countryside around you.
In summer, you'll enjoy the hot tub. In winter, you'll never want to leave it.
The Pods Are Toasty
Our pods are fully insulated and heated throughout. The pod temperatures stay warm regardless of what's happening outside. Think of them as the cosiest pods you've ever been in — we've done everything to make sure you feel nothing but warmth.
We provide:
- Electric heating (unlimited)
- Thick duvets and blankets
- Blackout curtains for sleeping in
- Full kitchen for warm comfort food
Local Restaurants Are Better in Winter
Here's an insider tip: the best restaurants in Laugharne and Carmarthenshire are easier to get into in winter, and the menus lean into proper comfort food. The Corran, Brown's Hotel, and The Three Rivers all do remarkable seasonal menus from October onwards.
The Price Is Right
Winter stays are typically our best value rates. You get the same pod, the same hot tub, the same luxury — at off-peak prices. If you've been putting off a break because of cost, winter is your moment.
What to Do on a Winter Glamping Weekend
Friday evening: Arrive, get in the hot tub, order from Elaichi Indian (they deliver to the site — 01994 230070)
Saturday: Walk the Dylan Thomas trail in Laugharne, browse the village, coffee at the Corran. Back to the pod for dinner and the hot tub under the stars.
Sunday: Sleep in. Slow breakfast. Hot tub again. Head home wondering why you don't do this every month.
