The Best Walks From Broadway

1. The Laugharne Birthday Walk (St John's Hill)
Distance: 3.5 miles | Time: 1.5 hours | Difficulty: Moderate
Dylan Thomas walked this route on his 30th birthday and wrote Poem in October inspired by the views. Start from Laugharne village, climb St John's Hill, and look back over the estuary. The panorama at the top is breathtaking.
Start: Laugharne village car park
Best time: Golden hour
2. Pendine to Marros Beach
Distance: 4.5 miles | Time: 2 hours | Difficulty: Moderate
Leave Pendine village and follow the coast path east toward Marros. This section is relatively unknown and often deserted. Return via inland lanes through farmland.
Start: Pendine car park (10 min from Broadway)
Highlight: The view of the 7-mile beach from the cliff top
3. Saundersfoot to Tenby Coastal Path
Distance: 4.2 miles | Time: 2 hours | Difficulty: Easy–Moderate
One of Wales' most celebrated coastal walks — through Coppet Hall Beach, the famous tunnel section, and into Tenby. Buses run back to Saundersfoot (or Pendine if you arrange a pickup).
Start: Saundersfoot harbour (25 min from Broadway)
Must see: The railway tunnels section — free and safe
4. Llansteffan Castle Loop
Distance: 3 miles | Time: 1.5 hours | Difficulty: Easy
A gentle loop around the headland topped by the ruined 12th-century castle. Below, the estuary and the village beach. Finish with a pint at The Castle Inn.
Start: Llansteffan village (15 min from Broadway)
Best season: Spring and autumn
5. Gower Peninsula Day Trip: Three Cliffs Bay
Distance: 4 miles | Time: 2 hours | Difficulty: Moderate
Worth the 90-minute drive for one of the UK's most photographed beaches. Three Cliffs Bay is a sandy arc backed by dramatic limestone cliffs and dunes. Go at low tide.
Start: Southgate car park
Tip: Arrive before 10am in summer — it fills up fast
